Blog intro
- What you expect from the Compiler Design course.
So I was really looking forward to the compilers course because... well the real reason is that I 'quit' watching youtube last summer because I was spending too much time stuff that was really of no use to me so I stopped using my main account. After that I've been allowing myself to use youtube in the following scenarios: watching something that someone sent me, watching exclusively educational content (sometimes these can be faund in youtube exclusively) such as, courses, classes and talks AND watching smash tournaments' VOD's.
As such, I became really interesred in CppCon videos lately to satisfy my youtube craving. As I watched more and more CppCon videos I became more interested in the LLVM project and gcc. After that I picked up a compilers book: Engineering A Compiler. I've only read the first few chapters but I did learn that compilers represent such an engineering effort that they require the very best of what our field has to offer such as system design and architecture, advanced algorithms techniques such as graphs, geometry, D.P, optimization techniques, compression, etc. I expect to learn about these.
